In <strong>January<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/blog\/scrapad-nominated-for-the-green-alley-award-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/blog\/scrapad-nominated-for-the-green-alley-award-2022\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">we were nominated for the Green Alley Awards<\/a> and made it to the finals in Berlin. In addition, our founders, Samuel Ruiz De Lorenzo and Sandra Montes P\u00e9rez, met with members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euskadi.eus\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.euskadi.eus\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Basque Government<\/a> to talk about entrepreneurial challenges, the environment and how ScrapAd is leading the digitisation of the recycling sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>February<\/strong>, we expanded our operations and opened an office in Madrid. We were also selected by <a href=\"https:\/\/naturklima.eus\/inicio.htm\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/naturklima.eus\/inicio.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Naturklima<\/a>. Climate Change Foundation of Gipuzkoa to participate in the \u2018Zirkular mentoring\u2019 initiative, which supports the launch of new <a href=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/blog\/principles-of-a-circular-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/blog\/principles-of-a-circular-economy\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">circular and green economy<\/a> business projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>March<\/strong> was a month full of awards for ScrapAd. We won the <a href=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/blog\/scrapad-wins-the-sustainable-business-innovation-award-from-el-correo-and-bbva\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/blog\/scrapad-wins-the-sustainable-business-innovation-award-from-el-correo-and-bbva\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sustainable business innovation award<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elcorreo.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.elcorreo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">El Correo<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbva.es\/personas.html\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.bbva.es\/personas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBVA<\/a> and were finalists in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emprendedorxxi.es\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.emprendedorxxi.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EmprendeXXI Awards<\/a> in the Basque Country from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caixabank.es\/particular\/home\/particulares_es.html\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.caixabank.es\/particular\/home\/particulares_es.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">La Caixa<\/a>. In addition, we received a boost from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elkargi.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.elkargi.es\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ELKARGI<\/a> through the Innovation Fund and Expansi\u00f3n echoed our project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>April<\/strong>, Samuel Ruiz De Lorenzo, founder and CEO of ScrapAd, was interviewed by Gananzia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>May<\/strong>, we attended BIR Barcelona 2022, one of the sector&#8217;s benchmark events, and we collaborated with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gipuzkoa.eus\/es\/web\/ingurumena\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.gipuzkoa.eus\/es\/web\/ingurumena\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Environment Department of the Gipuzkoako Foru Aldundia<\/a> &#8211; Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gipuzkoa.eus\/es\/web\/ingurumena\/residuos-urbanos\/cluster-de-reciclaje\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.gipuzkoa.eus\/es\/web\/ingurumena\/residuos-urbanos\/cluster-de-reciclaje\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GK Recycling<\/a> conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June<\/strong> was a busy month for ScrapAd, as we participated for the first time in the SRR and IFAT Munich fairs, we presented our project at the PERTE Circular Economy meeting and we reached 2,000 followers on LinkedIn. In addition, Sandra Montes P\u00e9rez, COO and founder of ScrapAd, was interviewed after her presentation as keynote speaker at the international industrial fair BIEMH &#8211; Biennial International Machine Tool Exhibition in the context of WIN (Women in Industry).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>September<\/strong>, Sandra Montes P\u00e9rez took part in the Think On Marketing, Think On Woman meeting, talking about how to deal with new changes, hyper-automation and the need to continue to maintain direct contact with customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>October<\/strong>, Samuel Ruiz de Lorenzo presented to Accenture employees what it means to be an entrepreneur through the ScrapAd experience. We also presented ScrapAd as a model of responsible management of recyclable materials at the VERSOS, Landfills and Sustainability conference. We were also interviewed on the Etorkizuna Orain podcast and selected from over 180 applicants to participate and present our project at the seventh edition of B-Venture, the largest entrepreneurship event in northern Spain. In addition, ScrapAd becomes the first marketplace to obtain BCorp certification in Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>November<\/strong>, we attended the Ecosystem Builders event organised by South Summit and participated in the event \u2018Technological entrepreneurship as a vector of competitiveness\u2019, held at the University of Deusto, where we explained what it means to be an entrepreneur and create a disruptive platform like ScrapAd. We also presented our project at the entrepreneurial event Eibar Business Market and Sandra Montes P\u00e9rez was a finalist in the Women Startup Awards of Women in Tech Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>December<\/strong>, we participated as speakers at the fifth edition of Aupa Zuek + Fuckup Nights, where Sandra Montes spoke about her entrepreneurial experience. We also had our own ScrapAd Christmas Fest and our team now numbers 20 people! In addition, our clients come from 77 different countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has clearly been a fantastic and productive year for ScrapAd, with many achievements and challenges along the way.
