Today, the BIR represents more than 30,000 companies around the world, forming the largest international recycling federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It comprises\u00a0<strong>four commodity divisions<\/strong>:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/materials\/iron-steel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iron and steel<\/a>, non-ferrous metals,\u00a0paper\u00a0and\u00a0textiles<\/strong>, as well as four commodity committees dealing with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/materials\/stainless-steel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stainless steel<\/a>\u00a0and special alloys,\u00a0plastics, tyres and\u00a0rubber, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/materials\/electronics-scrap-weee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electronic scrap<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The federation provides a&nbsp;<strong>dynamic forum for its members<\/strong>&nbsp;to share knowledge and experience. It serves as a platform to establish successful working relationships and to promote recycling to other industrial sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mission of the Bureau of International Recycling<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>BIR&#8217;s primary mission is to&nbsp;<strong>promote the recycling of materials and to facilitate the free and fair trade of recyclable materials in a sustainable and competitive global economy<\/strong>. Some of its other objectives are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>To represent the international recycling industry<\/strong>&nbsp;globally.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To raise public awareness of its economic and environmental contributions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To promote free trade, environmentally sound resource management and the use of recycled materials<\/strong>&nbsp;worldwide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To encourage manufacturers to design products with greater consideration for recyclability<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ScrapAd, new member of the Bureau of International Recycling<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We know that this membership is a great achievement and demonstrates&nbsp;<strong>ScrapAd&#8217;s commitment to environmental stewardship and the promotion of sustainable practices in the recyclable materials market<\/strong>. All this has been thanks to the work behind this platform, to make it a reference portal in the recycling market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus,<strong>&nbsp;we thank the BIR enormously for the trust in ScrapAd and for recognising the important contribution to the recycling sector of this startup<\/strong>.
