They are also the&nbsp;<strong>most common elements in the earth&#8217;s crust<\/strong>, and since their discovery, they have been an&nbsp;<strong>essential component for humans in the manufacture of instruments and parts<\/strong>. Normally, these metals are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Solid at room temperature.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They have a metallic lustre.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They have a greyish-white colour, with some exceptions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They have a very variable density.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">List of metals most commonly used in industry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/materials\/iron-steel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Steel<\/a>&nbsp;is the metal obtained from the&nbsp;<strong>alloy of iron and carbon<\/strong>. It is the&nbsp;<strong>most widely used metal today<\/strong>&nbsp;thanks to its characteristics, since, being an alloy of iron and carbon, it achieves great hardness and greater elasticity. It has&nbsp;<strong>high strength without compromising maximum elasticity<\/strong>. It is also a non-toxic material, which is why it is used in construction elements as well as in the food industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Copper<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The main uses of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/scrapad.com\/en\/materials\/copper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">copper<\/a>&nbsp;in industry are in pipes, connections, household appliances and technological equipment, thanks to its&nbsp;<strong>high electrical conductivity<\/strong>. Around 40% of the world&#8217;s steel is recycled. About 75% of the aluminium that has been produced in the last 100 years is still in use.
